Favorite moment(s) of 2011

To be completely honest, I can only think of one favorite moment during 2011 at the moment.  This single favorite moment of this year was the last weekend of September.  For the first time in my life, I was able to attend an anime convention.  The anime convention that I went to is called Anime Weekend Atlanta and featured the bands Moon Stream and The Suzan, as well as voice actors and others in the anime/manga industry.

Moon Stream is a project of Satsuki (ex Rentrer en Soi), with Tomo Asaha (guitar), Ena (bass), and U-ya (drums).  To be honest, I hadn't listened to any of Satsuki's music prior to hearing of Moon Stream, but I have started listening to his music recently.  But, I did however already know of Tomo through another of his bands, Echostream, in the New York area, and also through Facebook.  As far as The Suzan goes, I haven't listened to them at all, although I did recognize one of their songs from a Verizon commercial.

I went to two panels during Anime Weekend Atlanta: the Moon Stream panel and the Gundam panel.  During the Gundam panel, I met an awesome person, and he asked me what my favorite series of the Gundam anime I liked best, to which I said "Gundam Wing."  Unfortunately, I discovered during the panel that Gundam Wing has a very "bad rap," as it seemed to be one of the most hated of the multiple Gundam series in existence.  Needless to say, after I learned how much Gundam Wing was hated at the panel, I kept my love for Gundam Wing quiet.

After the Gundam panel was the Moon Stream panel, which was extremely hilarious despite most of the band knowing very little English.  I think the most epic part of the panel was when someone asked the members what their favorite type of music was.  U-ya practically "stole the show" by replying with, "SEXY DANCE MUSIC!!!  Oontz oontz oontz oontz..."  Needless to say, everyone was practically rolling in the floor laughing.

All in all, I had a most excellent time at Anime Weekend Atlanta, and so did my mom (although she thought a lot of it was weird).  I'm excited and can't wait for AWA 2012 in September!  I hope to be able to take more pictures (and in a better quality), too!

My pictures from AWA 2011 can be viewed and purchased at: My deviantART (They are also featured in the AWA group.).

Thanks for reading and don't forget to leave a comment!  (Constructive criticism is ok, just don't be a jerk.)  Thanks!  :)
