I hope everyone has had a wonderful new year so far! Mine started out bad, but it's been better recently. You see, just after the new year began, I came down with the stomach flu. Or should I say, the "stomach flu..." To be honest, it didn't feel like the stomach flu I had at age seven. It felt worse.
I was so sick, I was shaking all over and having trouble controlling my body temperature. One moment I would be hot, then the next I would be cold. I was overcame with the feeling of nausea, as well as having a bloated stomach. It was very difficult to keep food down, and I haven't eaten much since January.
I believe, though, that the cause of my symptoms are because I am gluten intolerant. My mom has a friend who is gluten intolerant that had to have her gallbladder removed at age 19. Currently, I am 21 and am having to have a gallbladder ultrasound soon to figure out if I have a problem with my gallbladder or not.
I really feel, though, that my so called "gallbladder problems" are from eating gluten all my life. I've been off of gluten for two weeks now, and I feel better. I'm actually sleeping now! (That in itself, is a miracle from God.) Since I was a child, I have had trouble sleeping, but now, BEFORE midnight I'm practically falling over asleep.
Whatever the case may be, I definitely want to get to feeling better. I definitely think I'm on the right track with staying away from the gluten; it really has made such a difference in my sleep patterns and my level of anxiety. I really think a lot more people should try going gluten free. I mean, really? What's there to lose?
