Christmas 2011

Hi guys!  I hope your Christmas this year was excellent, and I hope that your new year is even more excellent!

Christmas went fairly well for me.  A few minor issues, such as the organization of handing out presents (when there's two children opening up random gifts, chaos ensues.) and whether or not I get a present from each family member or not (some family had an issue with this), but I think it went well, otherwise.

Sidebar:
To my family who had an issue with getting me a present this year (you know who you are):  First off, thank you for what you did get me; I appreciate it greatly.  Secondly, please don't think you are required to get me anything at all.  It's your personal choice whether or not you get me a present.  If you do not feel like I should get a present at Christmas--don't get me anything.

Unlike the majority of people in the world today, I know the real meaning of Christmas--and it's not about getting presents.  It's about being together as a family and celebrating the true meaning of Christmas--the precious present.  (Time frame, not gift.)

If this offends you, it's not meant that way.  It's meant only for you to grasp another way of understanding and perspective.  However, if you do take offense to this, you're only hurting yourself--it's your problem, not mine.
End Sidebar.

As far as presents go, I got:
  • a sweater
  • a t-shirt (a very epic one, at that!)
  • a travel mug for my coffee
  • a sample pack of Starbucks coffee (which will wake the dead!)
  • Skittles!  (Love me some Skittles!)
  • Starbucks gift cards
  • ...and a few other things.
I definitely appreciate every single thing that I received!  Thanks to all my friends and family for the presents, and for the time that we got to spend together during a wonderful time of the year!  I love you all!

The Cuteness...

Isn't this the cutest thing you've ever seen???  Or at least one of the cutest things, right?

This is Layla.  She is a friend's Shar Pei puppy, whom I get to "dogsit."  (It's like baby sitting, but with a dog or puppy.)  Layla is such a sweet puppy, she's smart, and is very independent for an eight week old.

Yesterday, my mom and I brought Layla to our house so she could play with the family dog, Sadie.  And, boy, did they have a good time!  They were play-fighting all over the living room!  It was so cute--and funny, to beat!  It was a shock to see a little eight week old puppy push around a year old miniature dachshund.  They did really well together, though.

Needless to say, Sadie has been really tired today after playing with Layla yesterday...  It's all good, though.

Helloooooo!!!

Hello, everyone!  Welcome to my humble dwelling of the internet!  One of them, anyway...

My name is Meaghan.  I am currently a college student.  I'm from Atlanta, Georgia (I'm one of the few who can say they are actually from Atlanta.); although I don't live in Atlanta.  I enjoy drinking coffee a lot, but I probably partake of it more than I need to.  I enjoy riding horses whenever I get a chance (I've been riding since I was eight-years-old.).  My favorite horse would be a close tie between a Friesian and an Arabian; both of which I have either ridden or had some contact with.

I'm not really a people person.  I was abused as a child, so I don't really show my face outside of my house very much--other than family functions, or something really important, of course.  I really hope, though, that I can face my fears and actually go out and enjoy myself, and hopefully have something to put on here and write about.  One step at a time though, right?

Anyways, I really hope my introductory blog post was to your liking!  I'll update as much and as often as I can!  Thanks for reading!  :)
